Glutton for Punishment

January 25th, 2005 by Kyle

Consider this:

I’m currently in a state of self-imposed unemployment.
I’m only taking 14 hours of class included some sophomore-level math (by far the easiest classload I’ve ever had including as a freshman).
The new semester is not yet 7 days old.

Given all that, you expect me to not have spent the last three nights in the design lab pouring over all aspects of airplane design.

…but you would be wrong.

Tres Friends

January 22nd, 2005 by Kyle

inter-languagely speaking, should “the three amigos” actually “Los Tres Amigos” or “The Three Friends”. Since when is it appropriate to change language mid-phrase?

…or maybe spanglish just offends my midwestern sensibilities.

This Post is Lovingly Dedicated to Your Mom

Upon further inspection of my Vector Calculus textbook I have discovered the most wonderful author dedication in the history of math textbooks:

“To Will and Diane, with love”

MPTMYLS

January 16th, 2005 by Kyle

You would think that by now the beings that inhabit this earth would have learned not to mess with me. But because they have failed to learn their collective lesson, my next door neighbor’s door is off it’s hinges and sitting in the middle of the hallway with a pleasant little note reminding him of the disadvantages of drinking and passing out while listening to loud crappy gangsta rap.

Sure there maybe hell to pay in the morning, but it’s near 4 a.m. right now and I’m a little tired.

That TOG Guy

January 15th, 2005 by Kyle

The Anaheim Angels baseball team recently changed their official name to “The Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim” and while I find that to be a particularly peculiar grammatical construction for any team name this side of Derbyshire, I’m more intrigued with the actual words themselves. Because after all doesn’t ‘Los Angeles’ translate to ‘the angels’ in English?

Therefore, I present to you the newest named baseball team in all the land;

‘The The Angels Angels of Anaheim’

In addition: ‘the the angels angels’ joins the redundant names hall of fame with the wonderfully yummy New York restaurant ‘Tony Anthony’s’ which minus the short wording is ‘Anthony Anthony’s’

$$$$$$$ Ouchy

January 14th, 2005 by Kyle

Paid my very last semester of tuition today, and to my knowledge, the check should clear. House bill is due next week. I’ve finally got enough saved up to pay it all. And with that I will have managed the near impossible; putting myself though college. And that, i think, is something to be proud of.

Breath Taking

January 13th, 2005 by Kyle

I’ve been enjoying one of my christmas gifts and I’ve had an experience.

‘Into the West’ performed by Annie Lennox is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. It ranks right up there in auditory experiences with the first time you ever hear Clapton’s ‘Tears in Heaven’ there are few songs capable of pulling tears from nearly everyone who hears them. This, is one of those songs.

absolutely beautiful
